Learning Activity 3.5, Task 4: What do I believe in?

I believe that uniforms should not be used in schools for many reasons. First, they hinder students' creativity and self-expression by forcing everyone to dress the same, limiting their ability to show individuality through clothing. Uniforms can also be surprisingly expensive, especially when parents are required to buy specific items from approved suppliers—often besides regular clothes for outside of school. Most importantly, uniforms don't address the real issues in schools, such as bullying or social pressure, which are rooted in deeper problems than just what students wear. Brampton is known for its large Indian immigrant population as shown in the chart. The gender distribution has remained fairly equal with a slightly higher percentage of females. In 2021, Brampton's population was made up of 17.9% children aged 0-14, 23.4% youth age 15-29, 46.2% adults aged 30-64 and 12.5% seniors age 65+.  ( Profile Table, Census Profile, 2021 Census of Population - Brampton, City (CY) [Census Subdivision], Ontario , 2024) Since Brampton is so dense in its Indian population its not surprising that most of my neighbours are Indian. I've learned a lot about their culture through family friends that live in the surrounding neighbourhood. I've noticed that as time has gone on since my family moved to Brampton 12 years ago that the population is just ever growing and so ...
